Copyright & Intellectual Property

This page explains who owns the materials published on this global learning platform, how you may use and cite them, and how we respect the intellectual property of universities, publishers, instructors and creators around the world.

Last updated: January 2026

Overview

Everything you read, watch, listen to and download on this platform is protected by copyright and, where applicable, by database rights, trademark rights and related intellectual property laws. This includes course videos and audio, lesson notes and transcripts, reading lists, university and program profiles, application and visa guides, quizzes, illustrations, icons, page layouts and the underlying source code of the site.

We publish this material so that learners everywhere can study international education topics free of charge. To keep the platform available to everyone, we ask that you respect the limits described below. In short: learn freely, share links, but do not copy, resell or redistribute the material itself.

If you are a university, publisher, instructor or rights holder and you believe your material appears here in a way that is not authorised, please see Reporting Infringement. We respond to every valid notice promptly.

Ownership of Content

Platform materials

All content produced by us — including written guides, course structure, quizzes, graphics, design elements and software — is owned by the operator of this website (example.com) or licensed to us, and is protected by copyright from the moment it is created. No registration is required for copyright to apply, in most jurisdictions, and our rights are asserted under the applicable national laws and international treaties such as the Berne Convention.

Instructor materials

Lectures, slides, problem sets and teaching notes created by our faculty remain the intellectual property of the respective instructors or their institutions. They are made available to you under a limited licence for personal study, and that licence does not transfer ownership to you.

University and third-party material

Program catalogues, admission requirements, tuition references, ranking positions and campus descriptions are compiled from publicly available information and are used for informational and comparative purposes. University names, crests, logos and mottos are the trademarks of their respective institutions. Photographs, statistics and ranking data may belong to third parties such as ranking organisations, news publishers, image libraries and universities.

Trademarks

The name and logo used on this site, together with associated product names, are our trademarks. You may not use them in a way that suggests sponsorship, endorsement or affiliation without our prior written permission. Descriptive, non-commercial references to the site are always welcome.

Permitted Use

Subject to your compliance with this policy, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to:

  • Study the material for your own learning, research and career development.
  • Download provided resources such as PDFs, worksheets and checklists for your personal, non-commercial use.
  • Quote short extracts in academic work, essays, presentations and reports, provided you give clear attribution to this platform.
  • Share links to any page, lesson or resource with classmates, teachers, counsellors and friends.
  • Discuss and summarise the ideas you learn here in your own words and in your own materials.

This licence ends automatically if you breach any part of this policy, and we may then suspend your access to the platform.

Prohibited Use

Without our prior written permission, you must not:

  • Copy, republish, upload, mirror or redistribute our content, in whole or in substantial part, on any other website, platform or social channel.
  • Record, stream, re-broadcast or resell live classes, webinars, tutorials or advising sessions.
  • Sell, rent, sublicense or otherwise commercially exploit the material, including bundling it into paid courses, bootcamps or coaching products.
  • Remove, obscure or alter copyright notices, watermarks, authorship credits or attribution strings.
  • Use automated tools to scrape, harvest or bulk-download content, or to overload our servers.
  • Use our content to train commercial machine-learning or generative AI models without an explicit licence.
  • Create modified, translated or derivative versions of our courses and present them as your own.
  • Frame our pages, or present our content in a way that misleads users about its origin or your relationship with us.

These restrictions exist to protect the instructors, translators, designers and partner institutions whose work makes free international education resources possible.

Citation & Academic Use

Students and researchers are encouraged to reference this platform in their academic work. When you do, please cite the specific page and the date you accessed it. A suitable format is:

[Author or institution], “[Page title],” example.com, published 2026, accessed [date], [full URL].

For university counsellors, teachers and schools, you may reproduce short extracts in internal, non-commercial teaching materials, provided the source is credited and no fee is charged to participants. Bulk reproduction, textbook inclusion or commercial training use requires a written licence — please write to us and we will usually be glad to help.

Universities, Rankings & Third-Party Material

Rankings and statistical data

University rankings, scores and comparative tables reproduced here are owned by the organisations that publish them and are provided for general information only. Rankings change year to year and are based on methodologies set by their publishers. We are not responsible for those methodologies and we cannot guarantee that every published figure remains current at the time you read it.

University names and marks

References to universities are for identification and comparison. We are an independent learning platform and, unless expressly stated on a specific page, we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting as an official agent of any university. Admission decisions, fees, deadlines and program details are always determined by the institution itself — always confirm them on the university's official website before relying on them.

Photography and illustrations

Photographs are used under licence or from sources that permit reuse. Where a photograph depicts a campus, it is used for illustration only and does not imply any partnership. If you are a rights holder and believe an image has been used incorrectly, please contact us and we will remove or replace it promptly.

User Contributions

Some areas of the platform allow you to contribute — for example, leaving a testimonial, submitting an essay, answering a discussion prompt or uploading a study plan. You keep ownership of the copyright in material you create and submit.

By submitting material, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, display, format, translate and distribute it on the platform so that other learners can benefit. You confirm that the material is your own original work, that it does not infringe anyone else's rights, and that you have permission to include any third-party quotations or images it contains.

We may remove any contribution that is unlawful, misleading, plagiarised or inconsistent with our community expectations.

Reporting Infringement

We respect the intellectual property of others and expect our users to do the same. If you believe that material available on this platform infringes your copyright or another right you hold, please send a written notice to [email protected] with the subject line “IP Notice”.

To help us act quickly, please include:

  • Your name, organisation (if any), postal address, telephone number and email address.
  • A description of the work you believe has been infringed, and evidence of your ownership or right to act.
  • The exact URL or page on this site where the material appears, with enough detail for us to locate it.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent or the law.
  • A statement, made under penalty of perjury where applicable, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

On receiving a valid notice we will acknowledge it, remove or disable access to the material while we investigate, and notify any affected contributor so that they may respond. If you are a contributor and believe your material was removed in error, you may send us a counter-notice with the same level of detail.

Changes & Contact

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our content, technology or legal obligations. When we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after an update means you accept the revised policy.

Questions about copyright, licensing, translation rights or commercial use are always welcome. Write to [email protected] and we will get back to you within 24 hours.
